Blankslate Creative, a full-service creative agency that delivers brand strategy, web, marketing and advertising solutions and CKA Creative, a design group that specializes in branding, merchandising, web, print and packaging, today announced the joining of their two companies to form Doubleknot Creative. The agency will be led by four partners, Dave Blank, Mark Anderson, Jim Carey, and Melinda Torres.

“Over the past 17 years, we’ve had the unique opportunity to collaborate with the team from Blankslate Creative and have gotten to know each other extremely well. As we looked toward the future, we were searching for a partner who does great work and who could help us expand our capabilities for our clients,” said Jim Carey, Doubleknot Principal (formerly of CKA). “Partnering with Blankslate means we’ll have increased strategic services to offer new and existing clients, and more formalized client service support.”

By joining forces the two companies can blend a diverse set of industry experiences. Blankslate has developed niches in technology, healthcare, professional services and public agencies such as the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Northwest Trek and the Port of Tacoma. CKA brings deep experience in technology, hospitality, and is most well known for their work in the wine industry developing brands for numerous clients, including Chateau Ste. Michelle Estates, Long Shadows, and the Auction of Washington Wines.

“We are bringing together a shared passion for unique, strategic branding and design solutions,” said Dave Blank, Doubleknot Principal (formerly of Blankslate), “with the benefit to our clients that they can leverage even more senior level experience in all areas of our service offerings.  But what really cemented this union was finding another group of smart, good-hearted people that blended perfectly with our culture.”

Doubleknot will occupy the former Blankslate offices near Lake Union.
