Leafly

Cannabis Campaigns and Digital Creative

The Challenge

Leafly is the world’s largest online cannabis resource, providing broad education and connecting consumers, dispensaries, and producers on their comprehensive online platform. We were stoked to partner with them as their agency of record, supporting B2B and B2C brand and marketing teams across a wide range of channels, audiences, and business objectives. Leafly produces a lot of content, and they were looking for a fresh take on the cannabis scene. As a technology company, they wanted to improve customer engagement, and as an integral part of cannabis culture, they wanted to push the boundaries of what had been a relatively limited brand palette.

The Outcome

Leafly’s needs ranged from monthly assets for in-app dispensary deals and editorial content, to high level multi-channel marketing campaigns for the biggest annual events. Whether you’re canna-crazy or just canna-curious, this culture is all about personality, positivity, and authenticity. By embracing the vibrancy of the community—and leaving the stoner cliches behind—we were able to help them evolve their core brand and create marquee experiences for key engagements.

In cannabis culture, 420 is a BIG deal. We created a multi-channel marketing campaign, focusing on in-app notifications and deals, email newsletters, editorial content, and social media take-overs.

Leafly is well-known for their Strain of the Year award, meticulously culling information on best-sellers and trends nation-wide. We crafted a teaser and announcement campaign for Permanent Marker, a strain celebrated for its potency and high-octane flavor, evoking street art and graffiti tagging culture.

Cannabis dispensary “budtenders” are an integral part of the recreational purchasing experience. We helped Leafly create content tailored specifically to budtenders and the events/awards celebrating them.

We also created a wide range of Leafly-branded monthly assets that are delivered to dispensaries for use in their own in-app deals, as well as creative for their monthly strain-specific horoscope editorial.
