We’re on the hunt for a full-time Designer with a good heart and serious cross-media chops—from wine labels to websites, brand identities to billboards—to join our team in Seattle.

You’re someone with an opinion and a keen eye for detail, who thrives on collaboration but won’t hesitate to grab the reins and work independently. Whether you’re newer to the game or have some years under your belt, you know the tools of the trade and are up on current trends, and always hungry for new perspectives and skills. Most importantly, you’re passionate about the quality of what you produce—just like we are.

Why Doubleknot? We’re a tight-knit, open-minded group of folks who take our work seriously, but never ourselves. We’ve been around for over 25 years because we trust each other, and we believe in the power of creativity. The product we’re selling isn’t just design, it’s divergent thinking. We produce award-winning work, but more importantly, we produce work we’re proud of—original creative that engages people on a human level and makes a difference for our clients and their customers. Those clients span a wide range of industries, and include corporate heavyweights, fast-growing startups, and smaller local businesses just like us.

You’ll never get pigeonholed into a single account, industry, or medium here—and you’ll have the opportunity to see your projects through to completion.

This is a place where wellbeing and work/life balance actually mean something. We hustle hard but put in hours that still get us home for dinner. We laugh a lot, crank music in the studio, and knock off early on Friday for drinks. We are transitioning to a hybrid (not fully remote) workplace, and each person is free to set their own remote/in-office schedule—as long as they remain accountable to their clients and teammates! You’ll be supported by a leadership team that truly wants the best for you as a person and surrounded by talented strategists, designers, writers, and account executives who will push you to do your best work and always have your back.

More empathy, less ego: We learned a long time ago that doing good work with good people doesn’t have to be a pipe dream, and we’ve built our culture around both.

We know that fit matters, so if you’re nodding your head as you read this, we hope you’ll drop us a line. We’d love to meet you. Please send us your résumé and a link to your portfolio, and tell us a little bit about who you are and what lights you up as a designer.

The Opportunity:

As a designer here, you’re an essential part of our team. Your voice matters, and your opinions shape the work we do in a meaningful way. You’ll get to:

  • Help build brands from the ground up, bring them to life through original concepts and stellar visuals—then send them out to play in the real world
  • Broaden your experience across industries with clients in food and beverage, consumer products, technology, healthcare, professional services, and more
  • Flex your abilities across a wide range of media including packaging, advertising, web, digital marketing, brochures and collateral, and video
  • Work directly with senior creatives, writers, strategists, account managers—and of course our clients!
  • Work remotely part time if you choose—and we’ll help ensure your home office is dialed in (Fully remote is not an option at this time.)
  • Increase your skills and your impact, with stipends for professional growth and PTO for volunteering
  • Be a part of growing the culture here at Doubleknot—we recognize that we live in a world that’s changing fast, and we want to evolve this workplace to truly nurture creative thinkers and makers.
  • Join one of Puget Sound Business Journal’s 100 Best Places to Work
  • Salary is commensurate on experience and reflects current local market ranges
  • Local candidates strongly preferred

Abilities and experience:

The right fit and attitude are more important to us than someone who checks all the boxes on paper, but here’s roughly what we’re looking for:

  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
  • 3+ years agency experience or equivalent
  • A portfolio of work that is visually stunning, but also thoughtful and effective
  • Design and concepting skills that can flex for a variety of brands and mediums
  • Ability to understand and think strategically around our clients’—and their customers’—unique challenges
  • Active participation in creative discussions with internal teams
  • Complete working knowledge of the most current version of Adobe Creative Suite (esp. Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
  • Solid understanding of pre-press and printing processes
  • Experience designing responsive websites and/or emails
  • Solid understanding of digital technologies and platforms (you don’t need to write code!)
  • Time management and organizational skills to juggle multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills—present and defend ideas, but also take feedback gracefully
  • An attention to detail in all aspects of work—from comping, to paragraph rags, to your own emails

Doubleknot is strongly committed to hiring a diverse staff and believe all experiences and perspectives bring value to our team and our clients. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnic origin, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.
