Foley Family Wines

Acrobat Wine Can Design

The Challenge

Canned wine has more than doubled its share of the market over the last two years, and the more upscale brands are taking note. Foley Family Wines, to owners of Oregon’s acclaimed Acrobat Winery, approached us to help them translate their iconic product into this “new” format. Our challenge was to maintain the core brand equity and premium appeal of Acrobat while giving it serious pop and shelf presence—all on an entirely different shelf.

The Outcome

We wanted to create a design that maintained the minimalism and sophistication of the Acrobat brand, but give it some energy and make it something you’re proud to hold in your hand. We started by expanding the brand palette to create a visual system that’s cohesive with both the original wine bottle label design and the new can form factor. We used full floods of elegant colorways in a matte metallic finish and a subtle, tone-on-tone, geometric pattern to create a product line that looks great as a single and truly unique in a multi-SKU display.

This had to be something that was equally at home at a tailgate party or an upscale bar.
